We welcome guests for lunch and dinner, Wednesday through Sunday. Tables are warmly recommended.

We follow the rhythm of the week and the seasons. Wednesday through Sunday we're here for both lunch and dinner — come early for a leisurely afternoon or late for a candlelit evening.
Getting Here
Finding Lewes
Lewes, East Sussex — nestled beneath the South Downs, our coaching inn is in the heart of town. Whether you're arriving by train from London or driving from Brighton, the fox is easy to find.
By Train
Lewes station is a 10-minute walk. Direct trains from London Victoria (75 min), Brighton (15 min), and Eastbourne (20 min).
By Car
Follow the A27 to Lewes. Pay-and-display car parks are available at the Needlemakers and East Street. On-street parking is free after 6pm.
On Foot or by Bike
We're on the high street — easy to find on foot from anywhere in town. Bike racks are available outside. The South Downs Way passes just north of Lewes.
